00.4 - Our Conflict Resolution Strategy

Hey guys,

As we work together on evolving the firm, different perspectives and disagreements are bound to come up. That's completely normal and often helps us find better solutions when we handle it well.

This note outlines the simple approach we agree to use when significant disagreements arise within our core team (Yi Xie, Leon, Claudia) regarding the Blueprint or how we run the firm. The aim is to address issues constructively, keep our working relationship strong, and always focus on the best outcome for the firm.

How to Use This Note:

  1. Review: Read through the proposed steps and guiding principles below.
  2. Discuss: Share your thoughts on this approach in the linked Discord channel. Does this feel right? Any adjustments needed?
  3. Finalize: Once we agree, we'll update the placeholder section with our final strategy.

Our Approach to Resolving Disagreements

Here’s the step-by-step process we'll aim to follow:

Step Action / Focus Goal
1. Direct Chat First Person(s) involved discuss the issue directly and privately. Understand each other's perspective. Seek clarity. Find common ground.
2. Team Discussion If unresolved, bring the issue to the core team (Yi Xie, Leon, Claudia) via Discord or a brief meeting. Objectively present viewpoints. Collaboratively explore solutions / compromises aligned with vision/goals.
3. Decision & Moving On Aim for consensus. If not reached, use our agreed 00.3 - Our Partnership Commitments Decision-Making Framework. Seek external perspective (e.g., outgoing MP) only if absolutely necessary and agreed. Reach a clear decision. Commit to supporting it and moving forward.
